Downshift : Stay For The Sun

Downshift : Stay For The Sun

Producer Downshift released his newest a few hours ago featuring Dilrukshan of TNL Onstage fame (2016) and we caught up with him for a quick chat on this new release.

DecibelLK: About The Single?

Downshift: I’m trying my best to write music across many genre’s and this particular track is a more upbeat sounding pop track. The song started with the intro guitar riff and it just spiraled from there onwards haha! Even though song might seem like your everyday dance track, the lyrics come from first hand experience for me.

DecibelLk: Why Dilrukshan?

Downshift: Well, I saw Dilrukshan perform at Melo and I knew he’d be the perfect fit for the track. I’m extremely humbled to be able to collaborate with artists with such talent and work ethic. Deshan Gonawela and Nelaka Fernando (Two artists I have recorded and produced for before) also sing on the track and I couldn’t be more grateful for their contribution. Also, Dinuk Silva contributed on bass for the single.

DecibelLk: Whats Next For You?

Downshift: I have two more tracks to go before I release an EP tentatively titled “Did you just assume my genre?”. That would be more or less a compilation of the originals I have written and collaborated with my peers on. I am hoping to release it mid – May as an online release.
