The Sooriya Village Workshop Series – Part 1

Now here’s something we think will very beneficial if you would like to learn the art of Caarnatic Rhythms and Basic Studio Recording Techniques. Conducted by M. T. Aditya Srinivasan from Chennai, India..this 3 day session will only be Rs.5000. 

The workshops will be single daily sessions lasting for 1.5 hours each over a span of 3 days, and will be broken down as follows:-

Workshop 1 :- Carnatic Rhythms
Day 1 – 15th September – Understanding the Thala System
Day 2 – 16th September – Basic Syllables and Phrases of
Konnakol
Day 3 – 17th September -Thihais, Arudhis and Endings

Workshop 2 :- Basic Studio Recording Techniques
Day 1 – 15th September – Understanding the Studio
Day 2 – 16th September – Microphones and studio placement
Day 3 – 17th September – Microphone Shootouts

We will be offering each workshop twice a day separated into afternoon and evening sessions for convenience of attendees**.

Afternoon Sessions :-
Workshop 1 :- Carnatic Rhythms – 12:00pm – 1:30pm
Workshop 2 :- Basic Studio Recording Techniques –
2:00pm – 3:30pm

Evening Sessions :-
Workshop 1 :- Carnatic Rhythms – 4:00pm – 5:30pm
Workshop 2 :- Basic Studio Recording Techniques –
6:00pm – 7:30pm

Limited slots of 10 attendees has been set for each workshop to make the learning process more personal.

FEE IS RS. 5000/= TOTAL FOR ALL 3 DAYS

M. T Aditya Srinivasan is a Post Graduate Fellow and Masters Scholar from the Berklee College of Music. He is primarily a Tabla player and has performed with names like A.R. Rahman (concert for Berklee), Anirudh Ravichander, Raghu Dixit. Vijay Prakash, Naresh Iyer, Gino Banks, Vidhwan M.Balamuralikrishna, Vinayak Torvi, Rakesh Chaurasia, Sriram Parasuram, Anooradha Sriram. He has also performed and recorded for many international musicians such as Danilo Perez, Javier Limon, Perico Sambeat, Alain Perez, Antonio Sanchez, Allan Chase, Roni Eytan, Vasilis Kostas, Bruno Raberg, Christianne Karam, Stephen Webber. Aditya is also a multi-percussionist , Studio Sound Engineer at Raghu Dixit’s Wandering Minstrel Records, and a producer.

** Each workshop will be provided in 2(two) session types (i.e. afternoon and evening), thus giving 4 sessions a day (i.e. 2 X Carnatic Rhythm Workshops & 2 X Basic Studio Recording Workshops). Each registered participant may only attend 1 session type for the duration of the workshop.
Eg:- If participant registers for the afternoon session for the “Carnatic Rhythms Workshop”, the participant must only attend the each afternoon session of the workshop throughout the 3 days and will not be permitted to alternate between morning and evening sessions.


**Participants may register for both workshops if interested, but would be required to pay fee’s individually for each workshop!


**All sessions will be conducted in the English Language!
