Decibel Exclusive : Sandun Athulathmudali – Need A Break

You might remember Sandun from his of acoustic cover of ‘My Cherie Amour‘ that was on the YES Home Grown Top 15 a few months ago. He’s back with his debut original called ‘Need A Break’ with lyrics by Christopher Wijekulasuriya (You’re My Madness – Eshani Diana); More on the credits below, but for how here’s his single.

DecibelLK: Tell us about your single ‘Need A Break’

Sandun: The lyrics for this single is by Christopher Wijekulasuriya, it is produced & sung by me. The lyrics was really simple but I found it very interesting because we all have moments in our lives that we felt stressed and desperately needed huge breaks, so I did a house track for that.

DecibelLK: Is this your first single?

Sandun: Yes this is my first English single. I have done many Sinhalese tracks since 2010 as a solo artist, and a cover ‘My Cherie Amour’ by Stevie Wonder and a f eatured track “Empty Life” with a foreign artist John Carbone.

DecibelLK: what’s next for you?

Sandun: There is a lot more to come in the future. More hopes, I will keep it as a surprise, ? I hope my friends and fans will be in touch.
