About

At The Bombay Review, we constantly strive towards addressing issues from multiple perspectives. We believe that effective communication is the first step in building a society where empathy and education go hand in hand.

In line with the magazine’s vision to encourage free and liberal speech, this year we are catering to an audience in six cities across South Asia and considering themes that critically design our sociopolitical fiber.

Presenting, The South Asian Literary Forum, 2017
New Delhi, Karachi, Colombo, Kathmandu, Dhaka and Srinagar.

Panels and Sessions:

Celebrating local authors and sharing their insights, experiences, and views that have shaped them and their writing. This discussion will also go into depths of characters, books/poetry they’ve written and how it may have been influenced by either gender related issues or resistance to political speech. .
Authors:
Ameena Hussein (The moon in the water, Milk rice)
Marlon Ariyasinghe (Froteztology)
Manuka Wijesinghe (Sinhala only, Theravada man, Monsoons and potholes)

How does activism shape our thoughts and perspectives on these themes? Fostering discussions on discriminatory personal laws is Ermiza Tegal ( Attorney at Law) with an emphasis on MMDA. Hans Bilimoria (MPhil in Ethics & Philosophy, Grassrooted Trust) will be discussing “Women in online spaces” and Luwie Ganeshathasan ( Attorney at Law, Researcher at the Centre for Policy Alternatives ) will be discussing ‘Civic space in Sri Lanka; challenges and opportunities’
