Decibel Exclusive : Ray Martenstyn On Sync (An Upcoming Horror Project)
Just when you thought there was going to be nothing horror related from lka’s movie scene in time for Halloween, Ray Martenstyn (A Train To Kandy/Seer : Death Sight) dropped the trailer for Sync before the release on Halloween, take a look.
DecibelLk: About Sync?
Ray: Poltergeist activity or a haunting can sometimes exhibit similar effects. But is there a logical, non-paranormal explanation?
Much of the time, the Poltergeist phenomenon is poorly understood as mischievous spirits, ghosts or extremely negative entities. However, more modern scientific studies reveal convincing arguments that poltergeists are associated with psychokinesis. To this day, the kinetic type of energy remains unexplained.
Sync is an experimental short film album. It’s a collection of strange and odd experimental horror/sci-fi short films. These are investigations about paranormal and unexplainable experiences.
Sync:Ghost Tapes serves as the first film:
In 2008 a group of amateur ghost hunters went on to uncover the truth about a paranormal phenomenon in rural Sri Lanka. You are about to witness the consequences.
DecibelLk: CAST / CREW?
Ray: Fiona J, Izel J, Kumaalam Selvamani and heaps of non actors.
Producers: Ray Martenstyn, Yvonne Stanley and Reena Fernandes (My entire team is female).
DecibelLk: Is This Shot Entirely Here And Is This Based On True Story/Events?
Ray: Yes the entire project was filmed in Sri Lanka. However, there are a few shots/scenes filmed overseas. What you see is 90% real, it’s not scripted. We only planned how to approach our relevant subject, got the gear ready and followed the actors. So some elements were planned but everything else is pretty much what we actually captured.
