FLOWERS ON BOTH EARS – UMĀ
We have a new group from the island who call themseles ‘Flowers On Both Ears’ and according to their SC description, ‘they are a duo based in Sri Lanka and draw inspiration from a worldview based on their Islamic faith: The world of nature, understood as articulations of the cosmic Quran, in the breath of the All- Merciful’. Their songs are an attempt at connecting with certain traditions of Sufi love poetry (in the traditional world, poetry and music, were almost always inseparable)’.
