“Vikara and Visions” will be presented in two parts
Vikara (Pen drawings)
Psychosis is defined as a condition of the mind that involves a “loss of contact with reality”. Observing how ignorant we are of the consequences of our actions of planetary toxification and destruction, I have come to conclude that our existence is permeated with an underlying psychosis. This has rooted itself in culture, religion, politics, education, economy, and aesthetics and has comfortably institutionalized within the rational functioning of society. If a sane future is to be considered, this collective psychosis has to be healed. The first step of this process is a diagnosis. Through this body of work, I explore my contribution to the collective psychosis as reflected in my own predicament.
Visions (Digital art)
I am very much fascinated how the world exhibits pattern, at every level; micro and macro. This patterning can be observed within forms as well as thoughts. Psychedelic experiences have the ability to amplify this patterning phenomena into a full blown visual experience. Inspired by the visual intricacy of such experiences. “Visions”, is an attempt to express this aesthetic
