Organized by the Sinhala Sangedama (Sinhalese Struggle) a non-profit social movement to rectify the colonial historical injustices to the Sinhalese majority, and native Tamils and Muslims, an art-exhibition is being organized on 25,26, and 27th November 2017 at the Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi Building Complex, Thummulla, Colombo 7.
A picture does speak a thousand words. “Resonance of the Massacre 1818-2018” is an art-exhibition of 20 giant paintings, but will be an uncommon initiative, that depicts the brutal and frightening experiences of the Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims during the dark era which began in 1505. All the paintings will be accompanied by a historical summary citing sources to confirm authenticity. The exhibition will be open for public on 25th, 26th and 27th November, 2017 at Sri Sambuddhathwa Jayanthi Mandira (Level 3) from 9.00am to 7.30pm. is entrance free. The exhibition will be exhibited in other parts of the island soon after it is opened to the public in Colombo.
