Classical Baritone Gehan Cooray’s next concert will be held at the Lionel Wendt Theatre on the 9th of January at 7.30 pm. He will be returning to Los Angeles thereafter. Tickets can be purchased at the Jetwing Colombo Seven Hotel down Ward Place. All proceeds in aid of the ‘Friends of Prisoners’ Children’ charity which was set up by Rev. Sr. Mary Immaculate. Gehan’s guest artist is soprano Dinushka Jayawickreme.
The first half of the concert will feature Operatic Arias and Classical pieces in Italian, French, Latin and English, while the second half of the concert will feature Broadway Musical numbers and Songs from the Movies (including a Sinhala song). There is something for everyone to enjoy, from the florid Baroque music of Handel to Alan Menken’s modern Disney compositions.
