Decibel Exclusive : Genocide Shrines To Play @ The Bangalore Open Air

Genocide Shrines aka one of Sri Lanka’s Death Metal juggernaut’s  is slated to be playing at one of the biggest metal events in the world : Bangalore Open Air. They are to take stage at the pre – party, pretty soon and we had to catch up with Chathuranga for a quick one to one.

DecibelLK: This is a pretty special opportunity, for a band from Lanka to be playing at the Bangalore Open Air (pre party), how are you and the boys feeling?

Chathuranga: We are in full power. Armed with a new session guitar player due to the absence of the last on this tour, we will be taking no prisoners as usual.

DecibelLk: How did this happen?

Chathuranga: Bangalore Doom Syndicate comprises of a couple of old comrades who have continued to support the GS agenda since its inception, and since some of us were planning to attend BOA we thought of taking maximum advantage of the situation to go back and clean up the debris we left after our last presence in Bangalore which was 4 years ago.

DecibelLK: What is Bangalore Open Air in for, from your end?

Chathuranga: Aural abuse and total desecration armed with copious amounts of debauchery. We hope to perform for a complete hour which will include an all GS set, including a new creation we recorded for an incoming split release, “All And/Or Nothing”.

DecibelLK: What’s next for the band this year?

Chathuranga: We are still planning our overseas tours, of which information will made public once we have completed all the preliminaries. 2017 will also see the split release between Heresiarch and Trepanation from New Zealand with Serpents Athirst and GS from the Land Like No Other. The release will be unleashed by Dark Descent Records (USA) in league with Cyclopean Eye Productions (India).
