This Easter Sunday, Grassrooted presents V Day 2018 PatriANarchy – a look at how our patriarchal values continue to inflict violence on us in Sri Lanka. Like previous years, The performances are based on interviews, discussions and conversations with victims, survivors and perpetrators, and stories covered by the national press. 

In 2018 V Day moves to aptly named Idea Hell in Colombo 3. A renovated air conditioned warehouse that will allow for an improved audio-visual experience. This year we bring you stories around abortion, female genital cutting, naked pictures and shame, alcohol and women, sex work in the North, entitled misogynists, and gang rape. 

As always, we look to laugh at how ridiculous we can be.

Tickets are priced at LKR 1000, with 25% off for students. Tickets will be available at the Barefoot Gallery from Friday the 16th of March 2018. Students please email trust@grassrooted.net to reserve your ticket.
